"The Bump" or the Buddha Belly as some say is here for you to witness our baby slowly (actually, quickly) growing inside me. We try to take a picture every two weeks. Not too much of a change yet, but I bet its coming.
Week 18: I've definitely noticed and felt the change in my belly. Always wanted to be pregnant, but never pictured myself pregnant. It's wild to experience and witness.
Week 20: Woo Hoooo!! Less than half way to go now. Really feel bigger this week and noticeably preggers. The only time I feel small is in the mornings, when I go to the OB's office and see every other mommy ready to pop, and when I am out and about seeing nothing but 3rd trimester bumps.
Week 22: Everyone, and I mean everyone now sees that I am pregnant. There are no questionable looks like "Is she just gaining weight?" I don't feel huge yet, which is great.
Week 24: I'm huge! Haha! Not the hugest I will be though. I'm feeling great, and still loving the 2nd trimester. I hope the 3rd is nothing but good too.
Week 26: Only two more weeks before the last trimester. I'm a little sad writing that. This Momma can't imagine getting much bigger. Just have to wait it out because there are 14 weeks to go...Wowzers!!!
Week 28: Third trimester, baby!!! Only 12 weeks to go. Hubby reminded me today how we prayed every day just to make it to Week 12, and now we only have 12 weeks to go. Emily has truly been a little fighter. Getting so excited to me her...=)
Week 30: Fun week leading up to this week. Saturday was Christmas and Monday of this week (today) is my birthday. My sister describes my belly as bulbous, which I find humorous. Emily loves the right side of my belly, but today has changed her tune and is on my left more. I'm taking more sitting breaks with my feet up to prevent swelling. It's working, and the morning is always good after a long night's sleep.
Week 32: Measured 32cm at my 32 week appointment, so that was great news. Emily is in an oblique position meaning her head is down and on my left and her back and bottom are high on my right. The doctor confirmed that she is facing down just not quite situated to go down the birth canal yet. It's OK! She has plenty of time. The only weird part of her oblique position is that at night she likes to pop out real far on my right side making it somewhat awkward and uncomfortable. One more interesting fact to look back on is that Emily has officially made my inny and outy.
Week 34: Again my bump measured 34cm the day before week 34 started. Emily is growing perfectly on schedule. =) There are times where I feel like a whale, and then there are times where I don't feel like a baby is growing off my abdomen. It's weird! Night time is still when I feel the weight and pressure from her the most. Swelling is present and consistent. It hasn't forced me to wear sneakers yet, but I can't wear my engagement and wedding rings. =( Not a good time to have people thinking you are unwed. ;) One noticeable change is that my bump has prominent blue veins all over the front. I've always had transparent skin though, so it is to be expected.
Week 36: Wow! It took FOREVER to take a picture this week. I only got ready a couple times that is why. Hubby wasn't home in time before I got tired on those days either. This week has brought my first sinus or cold this pregnancy. I do not get sick but once a year and it is not serious when it happens. I'm agreeing with my breastfeeding instructor that breastfed babies are typically the healthy people in the world. I was breastfed for a year, so hopefully I can do the same for Emily. Just getting a centimeter bigger each week and putting on some more poundage (Ugggg!!!). Also thinking any day now that the stork is going to bring us our daughter since the mucous plug came out. Sorry for the grossness in that term. It is medical terminology. ;) P.S. Good gracious! I can't believe I look so fat in the face now. I'm running out of clothes to rotate too.
Week 38: After seeing pictures of me this many weeks pregnant, I think I look fat in the face and arms. I believe after giving birth and a couple months of exercise will bring me back to normal though. Again, that is going to be another "waiting game." A couple days ago I got a hair cut or really a trim. My hair is half back because it didn't look good down today. I want to note here that this is the longest I had gone without going to the hair salon (September to February = 5 months). The past two weeks I've had probably my worst symptom of the pregnancy which is my right foot and ankle swelling after a long day or too much standing. Now just waiting to see our darling daughter and curious to know if I will be able to post a Week 40 bump.

I didn't really start to show until about 20-22 weeks with Peaster...it was all downhill after that, hahaha!! I gained 54 pounds with her...ugh! This one is a bit different. I started showing earlier, because my skin was already pre-stretched from the wee one...but it still took about 16 weeks. So far I've only gained 16 pounds, which is nice. Hopefully Sir Squatter will be a little nicer to my body!!

WM, this week (#17), I feel like I am totally showing. Even week 16 I was there. This week, more people noticed. Last night, I was truly seeing my baby bump for the first time too. New picture post coming tomorrow for 18 weeks. Hopefully it will show more growth.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I want to point out to viewers that in week 12's pics, I'm wearing maternity jeans. In weeks 14 & 16 I was wear my regular bottoms with a belly band which tends to suck me in. I'll try to not wear the band in photos anymore. Who knows how much longer I can wear it anyway.
Wow at 18 weeks you can definitely tell that there is a little bundle of joy in there. At the wedding I thought to myself how lucky my son was, and that "she looks so beatiful I don't think she will ever look more beatiful than she does this day". But, I was wrong... you are glowing and so beatiful. :)
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you! I didn't think I could top my wedding day either. Still don't know if I do, but I think she is making me look better these past couple of weeks. I'm having much better hair days. That could also be thanks to less humidity lately. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable April! Hope all is well and that you are having a good week. We'll catch up soon. :-)
ReplyDeleteAAAhhhh, 20 weeks.
ReplyDeleteTime is going by so quickly... so enjoy your pregnancy honey, because before you know it Emily will be here and looking for all your attention. Loved chatting.
